PURPOSE OF THE CREATIVE DIRECTOR ROLE
The Creative Director oversees and directs multiple creative design concepts and projects. You will have a strong focus on User Experience Design, and collaborate with the development team to deliver world class eCommerce projects. The Creative Director will also provide creative insights directly to the client.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The main responsibilities of this role include:
Introducing and applying expert creative direction to the visual elements of eCommerce projects and campaigns
Analysing and building user journeys based on a clients target audience
Create concepts focussed on powerful user experience design
Manage and mentor the creative team, with responsibility for their work plans and development
Staying up to date with industry trends and eCommerce best practices
Presenting concepts to clients and conducting creative discovery sessions.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
A hands-on, proactive approach with the ability to create briefs as well as design the products, bringing the vision of our clients to life
Be able to demonstrate creative leadership
A strong understanding of user experience design, brand development, and digital marketing (online advertising experience a definite plus)
An impressive portfolio and passion for outstanding creative work
Have full understanding and vast experience with a range of design packages; with advanced knowledge of Photoshop, Sketch, Illustrator and InDesign.
Ability to create prototypes to showcase to a client how various elements of the design will interact
Confidence and comfortable with leading creative discovery days with clients and internal project teams
Experience of working across both web and mobile platforms
Experience in marketing, advertising, and/or interactive design
Experience in building the brand and visual identity of digital products, ideally within an eCommerce environment
Leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire colleagues
Interest in and knowledge of new platforms and digital technologies
Ability to work closely with Project Management teams and deliver reports on progress
Excellent verbal, written, presentational, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to interpret the business needs, developing a concept to suit their purpose
Strong desire to gather information internally and externally in order to raise the profile of projects through new designs, technologies, etc.
