Introducing our new Digital Project Manager, Jake

Having worked within the digital and tech industry for over 7 years, Jake has a wealth of experience in client-facing account management roles. Previous employers include our partners at Dotmailer (email marketing solution) and CTI Digital, a platform-agnostic digital agency who work with Magento alongside other platforms including Drupal and Shopify.

As a local Salfordian, Jake now works in our Manchester office alongside the rest of our Project Managers and Chris, our Head of Project Management. His clients include Cadbury Gifts Direct, Jollyes and Aphrodite who will be upgrading to Magento 2 over the next couple of months. Choosing to work with Magento full-time is both an exciting and challenging move for Jake but he has already made a great impact on the team and our clients.

Meet Jake

To introduce Jake to the team, we recently caught up with him to ask him 5 all-important questions...

Q) What made you want to work for a Magento specialist agency?

I’ve always worked with the Magento platform, so to get the opportunity to work with an agency who work as closely in the Magento sphere as Two Jay is an absolute pleasure. The fact that Two Jay is so keen to get everyone in the business accredited on the Magento Solutions Specialist programme; from developers, through to the entire client services team, speaks volumes in my eyes.

Q) Aside from a perfect project go live, what is the most rewarding part of your role?

I think the most rewarding part of my role is being the point of contact with some of the great clients that work with TwoJay. Every Project Manager knows it’s not fun and games all the time, but when things go right, and you can celebrate a successful project delivery with your client, that makes it all worth it.

Q) We love how active you are on LinkedIn, how important do you think it is to keep up with industry news and trends as a Digital Project Manager?

I think this is really important. Clients expect a project manager to be knowledgeable and confident enough to make suggestions about what they should be including in their project roadmap. This means you must have an understanding of industry trends and news.

Q) How are you finding life at Two Jay?

It’s challenging, but I love it already. There’s a real ‘family-feel’ to the business, and everyone has been really supportive. It’s great working at the WeWork in No.1 Spinningfields too, there is a really cool vibe to the working environment here. Plus the constant flow of snacks in the office helps too!

Q) When you’re not ‘project managing’, what do you like to do in your spare time?

I love to cook, so I spend a lot of my spare time trying out new recipes for friends and family. Think Masterchef, but with the added drama of having to do the washing up.
